Queensland Gold
Located in the Yarrol Province in the North New England Orogen, the Queensland Gold (“QLD Gold”) property covers a significant area of prospective geology. Only limited areas have been tested with historic drilling that intercepted broad zones of gold mineralization within granodiorite intrusions of the Glassford Complex in the 1990’s. In addition, the project contains exposures and historical workings within magnetite rich skarns and extensive zones of brecciated granites. The project is prospective for both gold and base metals mineralization and the existence of widespread mineral occurrences indicate the presence of a large fertile mineralizing system.
Previous explorers conducted exploration on zones of extensive silicification laced with auriferous quartz veinlets and phyllosilicate alteration, with over 10,000m of drilling conducted in the project area. Historic drilling was guided by regional and prospect scale geophysical surveys, and largely targeted concealed bodies of mineralization.
EMX believes that only a small portion of the prospective area has been tested, and with several untested geophysical and geochemical anomalies, ample potential exists for new discoveries in the area.
